About
The second annual Taos Film Festival is set for April 29–May 2, 2027. Building on the momentum of our inaugural event, TaosFF amplifies independent filmmaking voices from New Mexico and around the world.
We welcome feature-length and short-form narrative and documentary films, including animation, experimental and international projects. In addition to screenings, TaosFF connects artists and audiences through Q&As, talks and creative workshops.
TCA
TaosFF is a project of the Taos Center for the Arts (TCA). TCA features a robust year-round film program. Our programmers observe what draws people to the cinema, what sparks hope and what riles tensions.
Beyond film, TCA hosts music, dance, theater, visual arts and community events. TCA prioritizes collaboration and manages the innovative Inter-Arts Internship Program, which offers paid work-learning opportunities to area youth at arts & culture organizations across Taos County. Read Executive Director Chelsea Reidy’s article, Reeling It In, about TCA’s years-long process to create the first Taos Film Festival in 2026.

Inter-Arts
During internships lasting 3–9 months, Taos County youth learn digital and hands-on skills related to arts administration and the dynamics of producing events and exhibitions. Current and past Inter-Arts Interns play pivotal roles in TaosFF production, serving as programming assistants, projectionists and technical support at various venues.

Taos
Film Festivals have been a much-loved part of the Taos community before. Taos Talking Pictures (1995–2003), Taos Mountain Film Festival (2002–2009) and Taos Shortz (2007–2019) all generated a lot of enthusiasm and goodwill.
Taos is an elemental place full of epic contrast and true feeling. It is a home for families and communities that stretch thousands of years into the past. It is a creative oasis for wanderers of every stripe. It is a high-elevation desert scrubbed of all pretense by nature’s unrelenting intensity.
Taos offers a front-row seat to technicolor sunsets and the phases of the moon. Taos reminds you, you are a speck. And you will be grateful for it.
