About
Over four days at the end of April, 2026,the first inaugural Taos Film Festival will screen dozens of films that speak to the resilient heart of our community. TaosFF amplifies independent filmmaking voices from New Mexico and around the world.
We welcome feature-length and short-form narrative and documentary films, including animation and experiential projects. In addition to screenings, TaosFF connects artists and audiences through Q&As, talks and creative workshops.
TCA
TaosFF is a project of the Taos Center for the Arts (TCA). TCA has cultivated a robust year-round film program, observing what draws people to the cinema, what sparks hope and what riles tensions.
Beyond film, TCA hosts music, dance, theater, visual arts and community events. TCA prioritizes collaboration and manages the innovative Inter-Arts Internship Program, which offers paid work-learning opportunities to area youth at arts & culture organizations across Taos County.

Inter-Arts
During internships lasting 3–9 months, Taos County youth learn digital and hands-on skills related to arts administration and the dynamics of producing events and exhibitions. Current and past Inter-Arts Interns will play a pivotal role in the production of TaosFF, serving as projectionists and technical support at various venues.

Venues
Film Festivals have been a much-loved part of the Taos community before. Taos Talking Pictures (1995–2003), Taos Mountain Film Festival (2002–2009) and Taos Shortz (2007–2019) all generated a lot of enthusiasm and goodwill.
For a small town, Taos is fortunate to have several compelling venues for TaosFF screenings. Three primary locations will host official selections.
TAOS CENTER FOR THE ARTS
275 seats
TCA is located in the historic district and features a large auditorium with gallery lobby, concession stand, and state-of-the-art cinema projection and sound equipment.

HARWOOD MUSEUM OF ART

Established in 1923, the Harwood is “one of the best kept secrets in the Southwest.” Permanent and rotating exhibits tell stories of this land and the variety of characters who have come from it, come to it, or otherwise have been altered by it.

WILDFLOWER PLAYHOUSE
80 seats
The WildFlower Playhouse and Gallery is a place “for wild spirits to explore, learn and grow in the arts.” Community theater troupes call the WildFlower home. The screen and stage offer an intimate environment for theater, presentations, and film.

Taos
Taos is an elemental place full of epic contrast and true feeling.
It is a home for families and communities that stretch more than a thousand years into the past. It is a creative oasis for wanderers of every stripe. It is a high-elevation desert scrubbed of all pretense by nature’s unrelenting intensity.
Taos will offer you a front-row seat to technicolor sunsets and the phases of the moon. And Taos will remind you, you are a speck. And you will be grateful for it.
